Your Wedding and Family Photographer

Hi, I'm Sophie...

A wedding and portrait photographer living in Nottinghamshire, but I am happy to travel across the UK and Europe to capture gorgeous weddings. Whether it be Yorkshire or Italy I love photographing great love stories!

Growing up in North Yorkshire and now being based in the midlands means I have access to the stunning Yorkshire Dales and the ever amazing Peak District on my doorstep. I have had the pleasure of capturing beautiful weddings in stately homes, rustic barns, Marquees on farms and even super chic city weddings in York and Leeds.

You might even find me on the streets of London to capture couples who love that London look. Couples book me because they love my relaxed style. Natural moments captured with prompts rather than poses.

If you want to know more about me when I haven't got a camera in my hand....

I'm a chatterbox, terrible dancer with rubbish taste in music, a gin or tea drinker (depending on the time of day), and a lover of great food. I spent most of my childhood and teenage years in Malton, North Yorkshire, before moving to a small village on the outskirts of Retford, which is on the Nottinghamshire-Lincolnshire border.

I'm a mum to Archie, who has grown so much that I am the shortest member of the household, and a wife to James, who is also a giant and my biggest cheerleader. I'm known for my quirky sense of humour and my passion for delivering fun and authentic images for my clients. When I'm shooting your wedding or event, you can expect me to chat your ear off, eat your canapés, dance with your guests, and have a real laugh with you during couples portraits. I want you to feel relaxed and happy to be yourself, so I can capture those natural, candid moments that you'll treasure forever.

Aside from my work as a photographer in the UK, I love exploring new places with my family, especially taking our dogs to the beach at Fraisthorpe in East Yorkshire or Robin Hoods Bay in North Yorkshire. I'm also a big fan of travelling abroad, meeting new people, drinking gin in the sunshine, laughing with friends, going to the theatre, and reading great books. Speaking of books, I could go on and on about how much I love them, but I should warn you: I like mine quite a bit darker than Bronte or Zadie Smith. Bring me serial killers and thrillers any day of the week!

I hope this gives you a good sense of who I am and what I'm all about. If you're looking for a photographer who will capture your special moments with creativity, passion, and a sense of fun, then I'm your girl. Let's chat!

Life is awesome, varied and full of surprises so my thoughts are-Nobody wants a forced smile on their wall but children full of character or bridesmaids wiping their tears away is something relatable and worth remembering.
