5 Things To Do With Your Wedding Photos After You Receive Them
I’m going to go ahead and claim that it might be just about the most exciting email you’ll ever receive…ping! Your full wedding gallery has arrived! I absolutely love delivering your wedding photos to you and hearing back from you to tell me how much you enjoyed looking through them - but what’s next? I have lots of fun ideas for things to do with your wedding photos after you receive them, because a quick scroll on your phone in your lunch break isn’t nearly celebratory enough for these beauties.
1.When that notification lands in your inbox, make a viewing date of it!
I always aim to deliver a preview of your wedding photos within 48 hours so you can relive the loveliness all over again, and your final, full gallery will land in your inbox within 6 weeks. As exciting as it is to get that notification, I really recommend holding off from opening it on the move, at work, waiting for your coffee order…instead, plan a date night together and make an occasion of opening and looking through it together - your very own viewing party.
You can also plan a special date for your 6 month or 1 year anniversary, to revisit every joyful moment. To make it feel like an occasion, you could get a bunch of flowers in the same colours or varieties as your wedding blooms, wear your wedding day scents, and even make a dinner that reminds you of your wedding day eats.
2.Frame your favourites and put them on the wall
We live in such a digitally-focused world that it’s easy to just let our photos live in our devices and online galleries, and ordering prints and frames is not as popular as it used to be. But if there’s ever a time to get special photos transformed into physical prints and display them proudly on the fireplace, your wedding is the perfect excuse!
When you receive your gallery, you’ll also get access to my professional fine art printers who can arrange gorgeous, high quality forever pieces for you. Frame your favourite portraits, and consider sending prints as gifts to your loved ones - especially if there’s a really lovely photo with them in it in your gallery.Make it an occasion with snacks and your favourite drinks, and browse the best bits of your wedding day to your hearts’ content.
3.Order a luxurious photo album
Next up on our list of things to do with your wedding photos is turning that digital gallery into a physical one - and the best part is, you don’t need to have a long and confusing consultation with ChatGPT to work out where the best place to get one is. All my couples can order luxury wedding photo albums directly through me, gorgeous 10x10 books with a choice of lustre or fine art paper. You can even choose your cover, so whether you want buttery soft genuine leather or silky suede you’ll find just what you’re looking for. There is also the option to add two smaller, duplicate albums which are perfect as gifts for parents, family members and even close friends.
Photo albums are making a comeback, and I truly believe letting your wedding images live in a beautiful book of their own elevates the whole experience.

4.Post them on your socials - you’re so allowed to show off!
Whether you’re someone who only posts to your Instagram grid once in a blue moon, or showed up on stories during your wedding party, your wedding photos definitely deserve a spot on the grid. I love to see your images on your socials, but I just have two teeny tiny requests:
- Please tag me @sophieruckphotography so I can see your snaps, share in the joy and repost you on my own socials - it also really helps your wedding suppliers’ businesses if you give a little bit of commotion for them!
- Please, please don’t add filters or edit your images for social media. You chose to work with me because you loved my photography style, which I’ve developed and perfected over time, and it’s really disheartening to see Uncle Bob awkwardly cropped out of the shot or a sepia overtone added to your lovely flowers.
5.Keep the tradition going and invest in lifestyle photography
Once you’ve seen how much fun it can be having pictures of the two of you, you might never want to stop getting the professionals in to capture your most important moments. I also offer family, maternity, newborn and anniversary shoots which you can view here for more information.
